Plain language on what this website collects, why, where it is kept and how you can have it removed.
Who we are
Sociam ("we", "us") is a strategy, branding and technology studio based in Malleshwaram, Bengaluru 560003, India. We are responsible for the information collected through sociam.in. For any privacy question, write to venki.sociam@gmail.com.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiry and plan forms: your name, email, and optionally your phone or WhatsApp number, business name, country, message, and the plan, options or offer you selected.
- Ask Sociam assistant: the questions you type. If you choose to attach the conversation to an enquiry, it is saved with that enquiry.
Information collected automatically
- How you found us: the page you first landed on, the referring website and any campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source). This is saved with an enquiry only if you send one.
- Usage counts: page views, button clicks, plan-builder activity and form submissions, recorded with the page address and time. These counts have no cookie, no visitor identifier and no IP address attached. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, nothing is counted.
- Abuse protection: to limit spam and misuse of the forms and assistant, we keep a daily counter keyed to a salted, one-way hash of your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored.
- Hosting logs: our hosting provider processes standard technical data, such as IP address and browser type, to deliver and secure the website.
How we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare a scope, quote or proposal.
- To manage the project or service you ask us for.
- To understand which pages and offers are useful, using the anonymous counts above.
- To protect the website from spam and abuse.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We rely on your consent when you submit a form, on the steps needed to respond to you before entering into a contract, and on our legitimate interest in running and protecting the website. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
Service providers
We use a small number of trusted providers to run the website. They process data on our behalf, and only for these purposes.

Some of these providers process data outside India. Where they do, they apply their own contractual and security safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to respond to you and manage any resulting work, and afterwards only as long as required for legal, tax or accounting reasons. Anonymous usage counts are kept for analysis. Abuse-protection counters are reset daily. You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, for visitors in the European Union or United Kingdom, the GDPR, you may have the right to:
- see the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it or have it completed;
- have it deleted;
- withdraw your consent at any time;
- complain to a data protection authority.

Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with access limited to the Sociam team. Secret keys are kept on the server and never in the website's code. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
This website is meant for businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change, and change the date at the top.
